Quick, what would make the Dallas Cowboys even more explosive and drama-centric than they already are? If you answered, "adding Johnny Manziel and Robert Griffin III as backup quarterbacks," congratulations, you may be psychic. Apparently, both embattled young passers have their eyes on Big D this offseason.

"Sources close to both are saying some very similar things about each quarterback and the Cowboys," Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports wrote. "Chiefly that each player would love to end up in Dallas, and that there is a real possibility (or hope) that team owner Jerry Jones will make that dream happen."

Wow, can you imagine?

Both Manziel and Griffin are Texas guys. Though that makes for a good story, it doesn't necessarily make for the best fit.

Manziel's off-field behavior has been questioned at every turn and his commitment to the game is far from impressive. He's yet to show the necessary maturity to make it long-term in the NFL. While RGIII has generated plenty of headlines with his mouth since 2012, his work ethic has never been questioned. His capability as a pocket passer is far from assured but he clearly has impressive physical tools. Still, both QBs have been epicenters of drama since entering the league.

Following Manziel's latest faux paux, it's likely that the Browns will either trade or release him this offseason. Griffin will likely be let go in a salary dump by the Washington Redskins.

"Sources close to each player have maintained since the beginning of last offseason that if either was cut loose from his franchise, there was a belief that Jones would be interested," Robinson wrote. "That remains to be seen. Regardless, the same sources have told Yahoo Sports that both Manziel and Griffin have Dallas atop their preferred destinations should they become available."

Dallas' need for a competent backup QB is obvious. Romo appeared in just four games this season and the Cowboys won just one contest without him. Though Manziel has made strides on the field this season, Griffin still has the higher upside based on his sensational rookie season.

It would be cheaper and less distracting if Jones invested a draft pick into a passer the Cowboys believe can grow in their system. But you just never know what is going to happen with Dallas.
