Donald Trump said he'll spend at least $2 million a week on political ads in his bid for the Republican nomination but he added that he's "probably wasting" the resources in doing so. Trump said in an interview on CBS' Face The Nation that aired on Sunday that he "almost" feels "guilty" for doing so well in the polls, given how little he has spent on his campaign.

Host John Dickerson asked the Republican front-runner what people don't know about him that needs to be shown in the ad, to which Trump replied: "Honestly, I don't know. I think I'm probably wasting the money," Politico reported. "But I'm $35 million under budget. Look, I was going to have 35 or 40 million spent by now. I haven't spent anything. I almost feel guilty. I think if you want to know the truth, I'm doing the ads. I'm leading by, as you all say, a lot."

Trump indicated that the he viewed spending on ads buys him a type of assurance that goes beyond the polls. "So what I'm going to do is I'm going to spend a little money," he said, adding, "I want to be certain. I want to be sure."

The real estate mogul looked ahead to the Iowa caucus and New Hampshire primary, saying that he will do well in both. "I think I'm going to do very well in Iowa. I think I'm going to do really well in New Hampshire. In New Hampshire, the polls are very, very powerful, very strong," he said.

Trump leads Ted Cruz nationally with 35 percent to 19.5 percent, according to TealClear Politics polling averages. In Iowa, however, Cruz leads Trump 31 percent to 27.4 percent. In New Hampshire, Trump has a large lead at 26.3 percent, with Marco Rubio and Cruz trailing 13.3 and 12 percent, respectively.

Trump also told Dickerson that, as president, he would keep up his public appearances. "Well, I think I would be giving rallies," he said. "I want to rally this country because our country has no spirit. I would certainly probably not talk as much."
