"Batman vs. Superman" might be filming in Yorkville, Ill., the home of Kent Farms from the "Man of Steel" film.

The rumors began when Yorkville Patch reported "lights in the sky in the area of Route 126 and Grove Road, just past the Whitetail Ridge subdivision."  There were also "No trespassing" signs put up on the area, and residents reported seeing people carrying "spotlights" at night.

"Yorkville city officials said they had not heard of any activity in the area, but noted that it was Kendall County jurisdiction," according to Patch.  "Commander Phil Smith of the Sheriff's office, who served as the police liaison during the filming of the Superman movie last year, had not heard of anything in the area either."

Angela Zubko, senior planner for Kendall County Building and Zoning, confirmed to Patch a movie was being filmed, but did not provide any additional information except that "filming was supposed to begin in late August and is expected to finish at the end of February 2014." Multiple reports have stated official "Batman vs. Superman" filming is set to begin early 2014, so people speculating it is for Zack Snyder's upcoming flick are not far off.  However, the "Man of Steel" sequel's production team has not confirmed any of the filming rumors.

Another rumor making the rounds is the potential appearance of female heroine Wonder Woman in the upcoming sequel.  The actress reportedly up for the role is Jaimie Alexander from "Thor: The Dark World."

"I'm a huge fan of Wonder Woman. I really think if this is the closest that we're ever going to get to Wonder Woman, then I'm proud to play Sif. I hope that other comic book entities can learn a lesson from Marvel in how to execute a female character the way it should be done." Alexander told Forbes. "I really would like to one day see a Wonder Woman film or Wonder Woman character, but until it's done with class, I'd rather it not be done."

Before you get your hopes up, Alexander also shots down rumors saying a potential Wonder Woman role is speculation, not fact.

"I would love for DC to put Wonder Woman in one of their upcoming flicks, either in her own movie or Batman vs. Superman, or just something even to introduce her," Alexander said.

"Being in the comic book world, we know a lot of the same people at DC and Marvel, so we hear a lot of things, but it's all speculation right now," she added. "But I would absolutely love that [Wonder Woman appearing in one of the upcoming films]. Thankfully and gratefully, I'm appreciative to the people who ask my opinion of the character, and that's been pretty amazing."

The film is set to be release on July 17, 2015.
