Lyndsy Fonseca will returns to "Marvel's Agent Carter" to reprise her role as Peggy Carter's friend and confident, Angie Cartinelli. Her appearance will coincide with a special twist episode that involves a "dreamy" crossover with ABC's "Dancing with the Stars," according to Entertainment Weekly.

Fonseca will return in episode nine of the upcoming second season, which premieres on Tuesday, Jan. 19. She appears in a dream sequence that will involve a song and dance number, perfect for Angie who dreamed of becoming a Broadway star in season one.

"Episode 8 ends with a cliffhanger where Peggy [Hayley Atwell] and Jarvis [James D'Arcy] get in big trouble and are knocked out," executive producer Michele Fazekas told EW. "Episode 9 begins with a dream sequence that starts in black and white."

The scene then returns to color, which leads into a big musical number that will feature an original song by lyricist David Zippel and composer Christopher Lennertz, in conjunction with executive producer Tara Butters and Fazekas.

The production number will also feature "Dancing with the Stars" pro dancers Dmitry Chaplin, Karina Smirnoff, Anna Trebunskaya, Sasha Farber and Damian Whitewood and Louis van Amstel, who choreographed the dance sequence.

Fonseca plays the role of Agent Carter's conscious. "She's speaking the things that Peggy can't say to herself," Fazekas said. "It ties things back together from the first season and it's connecting all of these things in a way that only a dream can do."

All the major players from season one including Enver Gjokaj, Chad Michael Murray, Bridget Regan and Dominic Cooper will return to join Carter in Hollywood, who comes to the West Coast for her next mission.

"Marvel's Agent Carter" returns for its second season on Tuesday, Jan. 19 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
