The Kardashians released their annual Christmas card earlier today. This year it featured the family's four youngest children, as HNGN previously reported. The photo included Kim Kardashian and Kanye West's daughter North West as well as Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick's children, Mason, Penelope and Reign. Since Kim just gave birth to she and Kanye's son Saint earlier this month, people were wondering why the newborn wasn't featured in the kids-only photo.

Saint has not yet been seen by the public and Kim, 35, and Kanye, 38, want to keep it this way, at least for now. "Saint is too young," a source told Hollywood Life. "And they have other plans on the reveal."

Their decision to go with a kids-only theme came as a shock to some people. Even though the results were adorable, people were expecting the extravagant full-family photo the Kardashians usually produce.

"They all thought showing the next generation was the way to go because they love the fact that it is all about the future," the source continued to explain. "Nobody in the family is thinking backwards, they are all thinking of the great things they expect for the future."

"Christmas is really all about the kids anyway, so they decided to make them the focus," a different source told Hollywood Life. "They're all very happy with it-things will never be the way they were and they're all coming to accept that. It's time for new traditions. The kids are the focus now."

Grandmother Kris Jenner agrees. "All you need is love!" she captioned the photo of her grandchildren. "Merry Christmas and happy holidays from our family to yours! #PureJoy #ourangels #familyislove #myheart."

With so much going on in their lives this past year, it was hard to all get together for a full family photo anyways. "This year, especially the last couple months, was so hectic that it was hard to arrange a full family shoot," a source close to the family told E! News. "Showing the kids alone seemed like the perfect thing to do."
