If the New York Giants are going to keep their hopes for the 2015 NFL playoffs alive, they're going to have to do it without star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. Beckham, suspended one game by the NFL for his actions during last weekend's game against the Carolina Panthers and cornerback Josh Norman, saw his suspension upheld on appeal on Wednesday.

James Thrash, a former NFL wide receiver and the appeals officer tasked with hearing Beckham's appeal, upheld the suspension, which came as a result of "acts that jeopardize the safety of players or expose them to unnecessary risk."

Beckham, who this season became the player with the most receptions and receiving yards in the first 25 games of his career in NFL history, released a statement of his own in the wake of Thrash's decision, apologzing to the league and his teammates.

Beckham also released a statement through the Giants, indicating that he was "not raised to act" like he did against the Panthers.

New York squares off against the Minnesota Vikings with their playoff hopes on the line this coming Sunday night. If they're unable to pull off a victory, it's likely to be due in large part to the absence of Beckham.
