Lifetime released the first look at its upcoming original movie "Unbreak My Heart," the biopic for R&B songstress Toni Braxton, reported Indie Wire. The film, based on Braxton's 2014 memoir of the same name (which is also the title of her 1996 hit song), is set for a January premiere.

An isolated vocal track of "Un-break My Heart" plays as clips from the film flash by. New actress Lex Scott Davis, as Braxton, is seen sitting alone in front of a mirror backstage at a concert, laying on a gurney as she's rushed down a hospital hallway, leaning forward in a chair posing during a photo shoot and sitting at a piano.

The film will span Braxton's career as a Grammy and Billboard Award-winning singer who has sold more than 60 million records since her 1993 self-titled debut. The movie will also explore Braxton's personal struggles, like her battle with Lupus, her public divorce and raising her autistic son, according to Lifetime.

Rounding out the cast is "All My Children" star Debbi Morgan as Braxton's mother Evelyn, "Public Morals" star Skye P. Marshall as sister Towanda, "Subways" actress LaToya Franklin as sister Trina, "Devious Maids" star Tiffany Hines as sister Tamar, Cortney Scott Wright as sister Traci and "Guiding Light" star Gavin Houston as music producer Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds.

Unlike previous Lifetime original movies, "Unbreak My Heart" is an authorized biopic. Braxton will both guest star in and produce the film, reported Variety.

See the first look below and be sure to catch the premiere of "Unbreak My Heart" Saturday, Jan. 23, at 8 p.m. on Lifetime.
