Abby Lee Miller, the tough coach and star of Lifetime's hit reality TV series "Dance Moms," said that she fought back against a producer who tried to force her to incorporate inappropriate moves in her young dancers' routines, Cosmopolitan magazine reported. The dance instructor said that she was reduced to a smaller role in the upcoming season because of the conflict between her and the unnamed producer.

"If I've gone missing from a few episodes in Season 6, don't believe anything anybody says," Miller, 49, wrote in a Dec. 7 newsletter obtained by Deadline Hollywood. "No doubt, I am fighting with a Producer."

Miller said she decided to take a stand after the producer suggested controversial ideas for choreographed routines for her teen-aged dance students.

"When a grown man tells me he wants one of my kids to portray a pregnant teen and wear a baby bump - I have to put my foot down," Miller continued in the newsletter. "If that means not moving my foot and not working and getting fined in the process, well that's a risk I am willing to take to protect my girls. I am always teaching principles, integrity, and values in addition to dance technique. It is important for me that the girls learn to stand up and fight for what they believe in!"

This is not the first time that dance routines have stirred controversy for the show, according to Gawker. In a 2012 episode, a "Showgirls"-inspired performance featuring topless 8-year-olds was so controversial that it was pulled from the air and streaming sites.

Miller is in the midst of her own controversy, as previously reported by HNGN. In October, the owner of the Abby Lee Dance Company was indicted on 20 counts, which include bankruptcy fraud.
