One is lucky to have more than a day's worth of battery life these days. Improvements in this area seem so far-fetched as manufacturers are presently confined to teasing prototypes and concepts that could only promise possibilities. For instance, Apple plans to build fuel cell battery technology that can purportedly power an iPhone for a week, HNGN previously reported. An upstart Chinese smartphone company called Oukitel, however, has already successfully built a phone that can last from 10 to 15 days on a single charge.

Oukitel listed a device called K10000 at a Chinese online retailer called Gearbest. Information posted reveals a humongous 10,000mAh battery, the world's first on a smartphone. It is currently available for preorder and will be shipped within 3-5 business days once it is in stock. What is even more awesome is that it only costs $240. The device is also available to U.S. customers with free shipping.

For some, having a long-lasting smartphone seems too good to be true. This position could have some validity as the device does entail some drawbacks. First, the massive battery will most asuredly take longer than usual to charge, according to 9 to 5 Google. It does comes with Quick-Charge support but it still posts a 3-5 hour charging time.

The K10000 is also slightly bulkier at 77mm by 143mm with 9mm thickness. It weighs 184 grams. It has mid-range specs, which is not unexpected for a device with an unusually large battery footprint.
