Kristin Cavallari's brother Michael Cavallari has been found dead after he was first reported missing in late November. The brother of the former "Laguna Beach" and "The Hills" star's whereabouts first raised concerns after his 2014 Honda Civic was found abandoned on Nov. 27 on I-70 in Utah, as HNGN previously reported.

An initial search of the area produced no trace of Michael, and his laptop as well as his cell phone were both found inside the abandoned vehicle, which was found with the engine running and air bags deployed.

"We want to thank everyone for their love, support and prayers during this very difficult time," Kristin said in a statement, according People. "We have just been informed by the authorities my brother's body has been found. This is a very painful time and we are still processing it all. We kindly ask everyone please respect our privacy during our time of grieving."

Before Michael's car was found abandoned, he had been in trouble with the law multiple times and was even arrested five days before he went missing, according to E! News.

"Sadly, Kristin's brother has been getting into trouble for a long time. There's always been a lot of drama around him," an insider told E! News.

"The family is in constant touch. It's been stressful. Especially for Kristin, who is caring for two young kids and a newborn," the insider shared. "She's not a Hollywood mom. She doesn't have a lot of help. This has been tough on her."

Kristin recently gave birth to her third child and first daughter with her NFL quarterback husband, Jay Cutler. They named her Saylor James.
