The trailer for Warner Bros.' "The Legend of Tarzan," was released on Monday, featuring "True Blood" alum Alexander Skarsgard as Tarzan and Margot Robbie as his beloved Jane, according to Variety.

"The jungle consumes everything," the opening monologue says. "It preys on the old, the sick, the wounded. It preys on the weak, but never strong."

As the trailer progresses, the film's evil mastermind is revealed in the form of the evil Captain Leon Rom, played by Christoph Waltz. "He's Tarzan, you're Jane," he tells Robbie. "He'll come for you."

The feature, directed by David Yates of "Harry Potter" fame, also stars Samuel L. Jackson, Dimon Hounsou and John Hurt. The film follows the story of the fictional Tarzan, who after becoming accustomed to life in London, returns to the jungle, his former home, and becomes a pawn in the game of the corrupt villain Captain Rom, Collider reported.

"The Legend of Tarzan" is slated to hit theaters on July 1, 2016.
