It looks like Samsung is close to rolling out the latest TouchWiz Marsmallow update. Several leaked images recently had shown the update on Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Note 4 devices.

The first set of leak images were screenshots of an Android 6.0 update on a Galaxy S6 device and published at Tech Times. The second batch is thought to be mistakenly ported to a Galaxy Note 4 device, according to a SamMobile report. The pictures, however - including previous Marshmallow leaks on Note 5 - all show a radically flattened user interface, which is quite surprising for TouchWiz. Samsung's interpretation of Android tended to lean on the more cartoonish and 3D UI in the past.

It is safe to say, based from the update's screenshots, that the overall feel closely resembles the stock Android experience. It is easy to understand how the design has been fine-tuned to adopt Google's Material Design language, International Business Times noted. Take the case of the pull-down status menu. Samsung has implemented a green on black design for this feature. But in the new update, this was changed to an elegant combination of white background and blue text.

Aside from the significant change to the latest TouchWiz' appearance, the 6.0 update also reportedly entail improved performance particularly in the area of multitasking, according to SamMobile.

It is expected that Marshmallow will eventually roll-out for Galaxy S6, Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge and Galaxy S6 Edge+, among others. Some expect it to arrive this month or on January 2016.
