Kpop: Big Bang Is MAMA 2015’s Big Winner, Find Out The Other Artists Who Won Awards

The Kpop energy was intense in the just-concluded MNET Asia Music Awards 2015 on Dec. 2. Big Bang clutched the night's two major awards, including the Artist of the Year, which it previously won in 2008 and 2012. The group also won the Song of the Year for its hit "Bang, Bang, Bang."

Meanwhile, Big Bang's rival male group EXO went home with four trophies, including Best Male Group, Best Asian Style and Global Fans' Choice (Male). EXO's Album of the Year win was its third consecutive in that category, reports Koreaboo.

While EXO and Big Bang were competing with each other in almost all male categories, the two groups displayed friendship during Big Bang's performance when Big Bang's Seungri sat on the laps of EXO's Sehun and Chanyeol.

EXO's colleagues at SM Entertainment were also winners during the night. Girls' Generation is MAMA 2015's Best Girl Group, while its leader, Taeyeon, who debuted as a soloist recently, won Best Female Artist. Red Velvet grabbed the award for Best Female Dance, while SHINee won the Best Male Dance category. Global Fan's Choice (female) was won by f(x).

Started in 1999, MAMA believes that the world is brought together by music. MAMA is a major Kpop event that also reaches out to talents from other countries, reports AllKpop.
