Kpop girl groups are hit sensations among Korean military men!
A personal confession from a former military trainee, published in OneHallyu, explained that military men flock together to watch music shows featuring performances by these girl groups.
This year, military men are extremely happy as many popular girl groups are making a comeback and many more are debuting, making it hard to choose a favorite, reported Kpop Behind.
Recently, 466 military men were asked to choose their favorite among the hottest Kpop girl groups. Here are the results, as published in AllKpop.
9. SISTAR
Tied with Mamamoo in ninth place, Sistar received 17 votes. The four-member group is lauded for its powerful and seamless vocals. Hyorin, Dasom, Soyu and Bora also have killer bodies and feminine charisma. The group recently came back with the song "Shake It."
9. MAMAMOO
Also grabbing 17 votes, rookie group Mamamoo, who shook the Kpop world upon its debut with flawless vocals and vigorous dance moves. These newbies have the stage presence of veterans.
8. GFriend
GFriend garnered 19 votes. Military men love this group because it reminds them of Girls' Generation during GG's heyday as the members are all quirky and full of energy.
According to singer Psy, during his military training days, he was tasked with staying in front of the television in order to alert everyone of any Girls' Generation appearances.
7. TWICE
Bagging 37 votes, JYP Entertainment's recently introduced nine member group Twice is getting a lot of recognition, even in the military. Chosen through the girl group reality show "Sixteen," Dahyun, Mina, Jihyo, Chaeyoung, JungYeon, Sana, Tzuyu, Nayeon and Momo possess charisma, confidence and passion alongside their singing and dancing expertise.
6. GIRLS' GENERATION
Getting 38 votes, Girls' Generation are still famous among military men, eight years after debuting. Girls' Generation recently released the album "Lion Heart" and topped the charts. The girls were cute and perky when they debuted and now they are showcasing their feminine and more mature side.
5. GIRL'S DAY
Men love girls who have both a good and bad side, so it's no wonder Girl's Day grabbed 39 votes. The sexy group of four recently made a comeback in Japan.
4. EXID
Earning 45 votes, Exid finished in fourth place. The group became famous after a charismatic and sexy dance video of group member Hani went viral.
3. APINK
The very feminine and demure girls of Apink garnered 48 votes.
2. RED VELVET
The youngest girl group from S.M. Entertainment got 51 votes. Red Velvet's members are not only cute and charming, they are also superb dancers. They recently topped the charts with "Dumb Dumb."
1. AOA
It's no surprise that the vixens of AOA (aka Ace of Angels) took first place with 95 votes. Group member Seolhyun is said to have perfect proportions. Life-size cardboard cutouts of the singer for SK Telecom were being stolen all over Korea! Additionally, AOA's Hyejeong, Choa and Yuna possess seductive voices; dancers and rappers Jimin, Mina and Chami ooze with charisma; and drummer Y is very pretty. AOA is currently in Japan promoting with "Oh Boy."
