Season 3 of FYI's reality TV social experiment "Married at First Sight" premiered last night and, as always, emotions and nerves were running high as six singles put their faith in four experts to match them with the perfect spouse, reported Us Weekly. During the episode, viewers were able to meet the participants as they prepare to meet each other for the first time — at the altar.

Sociologist Dr. Pepper Schwartz, sexologist Dr. Logan Levkoff, clinical psychologist Dr. Joseph Cilona and spiritual advisor Greg Epstein sifted through 20,000 applicants and zeroed in on three perfect couples, who are complete strangers until the very moment they say "I do."

Meet the three Atlanta-based couples from the new season below.

Neil & Samantha
Both Neil Bowlus and Samantha Role were described by the experts as "bright," "well-educated," "quirky" and "funny," which is why they were matched as a couple. Role, a 30-year-old bank manager, was a bundle of nerves before she walked down the aisle to meet her 31-year-old laboratory compliance specialist husband. She almost backed out, but decided to stay 100 percent committed. "Once I get up there, I'll be fine," she said. "I have to get up there though."

Ashley & David
Ashley Doherty, a 30-year-old nanny and nursing student was matched with 29-year-old software account executive David Norton because of their opposing qualities — Doherty is "guarded" and Norton can help her open up with his romantic side. Both gained reassurance on their big day from their parents. Doherty's father expressed his emotions before walking his daughter down the aisle, while Norton's mother gave him one piece of advice. "If you get nervous and you notice that she's nervous, do what your dad did," said Norton's mother, "just reach over and hold her hand to help calm her down."

Tres & Vanessa
Vanessa Nelson is a 26-year-old corporate events manager who was matched with 27-year-old Tres Russell, a luxury car salesman. The experts believe that Nelson and Russell will have a mutual attraction and will also admire one another. Their prediction was right, as Russell said his new wife is "definitely beautiful" and Nelson said she was "very pleased" with her new hubby. But the couple ended the episode on a cliffhanger when Russell said he needed to take a minute right before Nelson was about to recite her vows.
