Pink was named the newest UNICEF ambassador on Monday. The pop star, real name Alecia Moore, has partnered with UNICEF to focus on children's health issues.

Pink will help promote physical play in the United States and raise money for nutritional and vitamin-rich peanut paste to be delivered to starving children all over the world, according to ABC News. She was also named the spokesperson for the UNICEF Kid Power Band, a child friendly fitness band that encourages exercise through an app in the band. The kids can earn points by accomplishing goals or taking a certain number of steps in a single day. When the children earn points, UNICEF's partners like Disney and Target will donate the money needed to send the peanut paste to countries that need it, like Haiti.

"Statistically, one in four kids in the U.S. are inactive. And I'm all about fitness and health and positivity. One in four kids, globally, are malnourished. So UNICEF has found a way, with Kid Power, to combat both problems at the same time," Pink said, according to People.

The singer recently went on a trip to Haiti and saw the problem of child hunger first-hand. As part of the trip, she visited a health care center that helped mothers and infants. It was that trip in July that inspired her to "use her big mouth" to help kids in need and reminded her that children also have the power to inspire.

"They're so ready to fix their world," Pink said. "They just keep going. Kids are so resilient. I sat with this little 4- or 5-year-old. And she just held her hands on my face and sang to me. She's living in a one-room shack with her entire family and hardly any food, and she's taking the time to sit with me and sing with me. The kids give me the most hope."
