Country singers Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton went through a very public divorce in July, and even though Lambert has admitted that she's happy and Shelton has a new girlfriend, his "The Voice" co-star Gwen Stefani, Lambert hadn't opened up about the divorce until recently.

Lambert breaks the silence in an upcoming issue of Cosmopolitan Magazine, on which she will appear on the cover of. "Marriage is a tough business, and we gave it our best college try," she told the magazine, according to Entertainment Tonight. "I had a great relationship with an amazing man so I know what good is. I have a great launching pad for the future. I will never take that for granted."

While the divorce was hard on her, she doesn't plan on letting it affect her outlook on life. "Some of that might mean nights on my porch crying, drinking whiskey, and going, 'Man, this sucks right now,'" she continued to say, adding that she still plans on making music. "I feel the sexiest when I'm in my element, which is playing music. It doesn't really matter what I'm wearing necessarily or where I'm at, just on stage with my band playing music is sort of where I feel like I belong and that makes me feel sexy."

At the time of their divorce, the couple released a joint statement, even though they never revealed the true reason behind it, as HNGN previously reported. "This is not the future we envisioned and it is with heavy heart that we move forward separately," they said. "We are real people, with real lives, with real family, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter."

Shelton first broke his silence back in September while on "The Bobby Bones Show." "My life is all overt the papers. In Oklahoma, it happens so fast," he explained of the divorce process. "By the time anybody knew anything, it was over. It was done...Our whole thing was, we are going to be cool about this. It is what it is. We're buddies."
