Eddie Redmayne has not said much about his role as Newt Scamander in J.K. Rowling's "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" during the his press tour for his next film, "The Danish Girl," but he did recently mention that he had been dealing with live snakes on the set of the film.

"There are some live animals. Dan Fogler [who plays Newt's no-maj friend] and I had to negotiate quite some epically-sized snakes the other day, Redmayne told the Wall Street Journal. We went, 'Wait a second, can't we CGI those in?'"

Redmayne also spoke about the pressure that he felt stepping into the wizarding world that Rowling created and said he wanted to "do justice to the extraordinary world."

"Fantastic Beasts" is based off of Rolwing's encyclopedia of magical creatures and is set in New York City in 1926, as HNGN previously reported, decades before Harry Potter was born. The film centers on Redmayne's character, Newt, who is a famous Magizoologist.

The film also stars Fogler as Jacob, Katherine Waterston as Tina and Alison Sudol as Queenie. Fogler's character is the first main character who has no magical ability. He is no-maj (like a muggle in the United Kingdom) that is an optimistic factory worker/aspiring banker who gets introduced to the wizarding world when he meets Newt.

"Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" will be released in theaters on Nov. 18, 2016.
