Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has confirmed that a fourth "BioShock" game, and even more, can be expected in the future, saying that the series is set to be a permanent franchise of the game developer.

Zelnick made the announcement during an MKM Partners Investor conference, where he also shed some light on what projects Irrational Games is developing together with co-founder and creator of "BioShock" Ken Levine, saying hat the future projects are "something highly creative and innovative," IGN News reported.

"The franchise is in the hands of 2K. They'll make announcements in due time about any upcoming releases. But 'BioShock' is unquestionably a permanent franchise in our company and one that we do believe in," said Zelnick, according to PC Gamer.

The first "BioShock" was introduced in 2007. Its rise to fame and the awards it received motioned the developer to turn it into a new game series. "BioShock 2" came in 2010, and "BioShock Infinite" was launched in 2013, according to Geek.

Aside from hinting that the "BioShock" series will be continued, no other details were given as to when the game would be released or what kind of game the fourth "BioShock" installment would be. However, gamers are wishing that it would be available in PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
