Writing a thank you note may seem like a simple task, but some people have a hard time expressing what they want to say in words. If you're one of those people, there are plenty of other creative ways to say "Thank you!"

Delight your friends and family with these gestures of gratitude:

1) Send a personalized gift basket containing other than flowers, fruits and chocolates.

Gift companies conveniently deliver gift baskets to you intended recipient, but you can also come up with special customized and personalized baskets that contain stuff your friends or family members are into. Some examples include a gluten-free gift basket, a junk food care package, a deluxe car wash bucket, a gourmet pizza making gift and a teatime basket, according to Dodo Burd.

2) Pay it forward.

What better way to express gratitude than by paying it forward? Enlist the person's name as the donor in your favorite charity or support your friend's cause by making a donation. Big organizations usually have a gift program. For starters, check UNICEF, Red Cross, or the Humane Society.

3) Use the Internet.

Show your gratitude for someone by instigating a social media blast. Post the story of why this person is receiving your thanks and praises and share this on your blog, Facebook, Twitter and other social feeds. You could even do a video about this person to post on YouTube. Who knows, it could go viral and the whole world could learn about it.

4) Cook a special recipe.

Whip up a batch of famous family recipes like cookies, baked goods or other homemade treats and give it to the people you appreciate. Place it in special containers, preferably one that they can reuse like this Ball Mason Jar, so that they will have something to remember from you.

If you're so inclined, add a simple message, but you could also just share the recipe in the package so that your recipients can prepare it for next time (especially if they enjoyed the treats!).
