Supercell made good on its promise and began publishing the sneak peeks into the massive "Clash of Clans" update due in December. On Monday, this started with the revamped and improved shield system. The change is divided into two important areas: shield acquisition and attacking through shield.

With the new update, Supercell will introduce new ways of shield acquisition, as Town Hall destruction will no longer grant one. Players are now granted shields according to the damage wrought on the settlement: 12-hour shield for 30 percent destruction, 14-hour shield for 60 percent destruction and 16-hour shield granted at 90 percent, according to Supercell's statement. Also, in order to get a shield, the attacker must use at least 40 percent of his or her army.

Supercell also outlined the following conditions when attacking while shielded:

  1. Being shielded no longer prevents entering multiplayer matchmaking, browsing targets or attempting revenge.
  2. Executing a multiplayer or revenge attack while shielded will deduct three hours from the remaining shield time.
  3. Additional attacks while shielded will deduct increasing amounts of shield (four hours, five hours, etc...).

The "Clash of Clans" shield system is still being improved, and Supercell is expected to introduce more changes in this area in the coming update. Other related changes that could make their appearance in the next sneak peeks include the "village guard concept," which HNGN previously reported. Supercell is also expected to introduce a patch that will address hacks that let players stay active 24/7, reported iDigital Times. The widely anticipated hero that will be introduced will also probably be a mage and would cost 6 million elixir, according to Yibada. Watch the sneak peek below:
