Fear not, impoverished citizens of Westeros, Slaves of Essos, Brothers of the Nights Watch, etc., for HBO's "Game of Thrones" will return in April 2016. The cable network made the announcement via twitter and shared the first promotional image for season six (pictured above). Though the show may still be delayed a week or two from its normal airing date, it's encouraging to see that fans won't have to wait too long to get their "Thrones" fix. You know how it is, the TV-vieiwing public need their death-filled weddings and dragon BBQs.

Kit Harington's Jon Snow was last seen being betrayed by the Nights Watch and left for dead in a pool of his own blood. It was a very violent mutiny to say the least. Yet immediately after the season five finale fans began to speculate and theorize that Jon Snow would not stay dead for very long. It appears as if those conspiracy theories were accurate, as the bloody and forlorn looking bastard is the only character adorning HBO's little teaser.

Despite entering its sixth season, "Game of Thrones" is more popular than ever. The season five finale drew the show's largest audience in history even as it went up against the NBA Finals. If you have still yet to take a trip to the Seven Kingdoms, we highly suggest you do so in the next five months so that you're ready for season six.
