Warning: The following contains possible spoilers for HBO's "Game of Thrones."

Like Winter, season six of HBO's "Game of Thrones" is coming, though not as soon as everyone would like. However, the silver lining of the announced season six delay is that it gives us more time to theorize, speculate and investigate.

Jon Snow may rightfully get all the headlines when it comes to heated debates about season six, but there are other plot lines that deserve our attention as well. Specifically, the looming threat of the dangerous and mysterious White Walkers is still a major threat, though no one outside of the North seems to care.

"In fact, one of the most exciting is the prospect of the Army of the Dead marching toward the Wall," those at Den of Geek said in their annual Watch for "Game of Thrones" column. "Because no matter how you felt about the season 5 as a whole, the eighth episode of 2015, 'Hardhome,' was a series highlight when the White Walkers increased their ranks by a considerable margin.

"And now thanks to Miguel Sapochnik's Twitter page (he directed 'Hardhome'), we now see what he is up to in terms of directing the season 6 finale. And be careful, because here there be White Walkers..."

The White Walkers appear central to the end game within "Game of Thrones" though the show is certainly slow playing that aspect of the story. In the meantime, the majority of the series is more concerned with the political jockeying of King's Landing and Westeros as well as Daenerys' growing strength in Mereen. Eventually, however, it is believed that these stories will intersect with the White Walkers' march South.

How, exactly, that story will play out and what the outcome will be remains to be seen. But it will undoubtedly be shocking and entertaining.

"Game of Thrones" is expected to return in late April or early May of 2016.
