Boise State tight end David Lucero has been suspended from the team indefinitely after being arrested on suspicion felony of attempted strangulation on Tuesday, according to B.J. Rains of the Idaho Press.

The Boise Police Department released a statement saying, "Boise Police officers responded to a call of a fight at a residence near the intersection of South Shoshone Street and Cherry Lane at 10:48 p.m. on Monday, November 16," via the Idaho Press. "Witnesses told officers an adult male and adult female known to each other were verbally arguing when the argument turned physical."

Officers have taken Lucero into custody, and the Boise State football player has been transported to the Ada County Jail, where he was booked for suspicion of attempted strangulation. Lucero, 19, could face up to 15 years in prison, according to Rains.

Lucero has previously been arrested for a misdemeanor alcohol charge, and the redshirt freshman will not be playing football for the Broncos again this season, according to John Taylor of NBC Sports. Lucero has played in nine of the Broncos ten games this season, and had recorded four receptions for 63 yards this season.

Boise State head football coach Bryan Harsin will want his team focusing on their upcoming game against Air Force, as it will reportedly be a very physical game. The Broncos are 7-3 on the season, but Lucero's arrest and particularly his crime would likely be a distraction for any college football team.
