Apple is shutting down Dr. Dre Beats streaming music service, according to Gadgets magazineUsers of the Beats streaming music service can move to newly launched Apple Music once Beats shuts down on Nov. 30, reported The Wrap.

In a calculated business move, the tech giant announced to Beats subscribers on Thursday Nov. 12 that they can transfer their playlists to Apple Music. Apple posted a brief message to Beats Music subscribers the plan to close the streaming service.

"Beats Music ends on November 30,” Apple stated on its support page. “Your subscription will be cancelled, but you can move your picks and preferences over to Apple Music."

The company reassured the Beats subscribers that they will continue to have an exceptional music experience.

"All the pros that curated music for you are still crafting more amazing experiences," The company stated online. "Plus, on Apple Music, you’ll get even better recommendations based on music you already listen to and love, 24/7 global radio with Beats 1, exciting material from your favorite artist, and more."

Back in 2014, Apple acquired Beats Music as part of a $3 billion Beats Electronics acquisition, noted The YBF. Then the tech giant used Beats music to build up the Apple Music subscription service.

Apple Music offers a $10-a-month streaming alternative service to Beats, reported Fortune. The move to shut down Beats comes six months after Apple acquired Beats Music.
