If you're a fellow proud couch potato, then you have an eventful week in store when it comes to TV watching. Several highly anticipated series will be premiering such as AMC's "Into the Badlands," Amazon's "The Man in the High Castle" and Netflix's "Jessica Jones," while FX's "The Bastard Executioner" will be airing its season one finale along with a handful of other shows hanging it up for the Winter offseason.

Things look just as exciting on the big screen as this Friday will see the release of major blockbuster "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2" as well as Academy Awards hopefuls such as "Spotlight" and "Legend."

Here's our look ahead at entertainment this week.

In Theaters...

"The Hunger Games: Mockingjay, Part 2" - Friday, Nov. 20

Audiences worldwide have been thrilled by Jennifer Lawrence's star-making dystopian franchise. The young adult series has been one of the most popular in recent memory and is sure to score big at the box office in the weeks leading up to "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

But will Katnis Everdeen finally be able to overthrow the dictatorial President Snow? What will become of all the Districts? We'll have to wait just a little bit longer to find out.

"Spotlight" - Friday, Nov. 20

Being hailed as this generation's version of "All the President's Men," "Spotlight" focuses on the Boston Globe reporters that dug into the rampant allegations of sexual abuse by priests in the Catholic Church during the early 2000s. It is considered by many critics at the moment to be a sure-fire competitor for Best Picture at the Academy Awards.

With an impressive ensemble cast that includes Michael Keaton, Rachel McAdams, Mark Ruffalo, John Slattery, Live Schrieber and Billy Crudup, we're not surprised as to why.

"Legend" - Friday, Nov. 20

Tom Hardy is one of the most frequent answers when you ask someone who the next big thing in Hollywood is. He already has enjoyed a compelling turn in a successful super hero blockbuster ("The Dark Knight Rises") as well as his own franchise ("Mad Max: Fury Road"). Now, with "Legend," he may have the chance to add some elusive Oscar hardware to his mantle.

"Legend" follows the true story of twin gangsters Ronald and Reginanld Kray as they terrorize London during the 1950s and 1960s. What's most interesting about this particular movie, though, is that Hardy will be playing both brothers.

Premiering On TV...

"Into the Badlands" - Nov. 15 - AMC

Following the conclusion of "Mad Men" and "Breaking Bad" over the last few years, AMC has been searching diligently for its next big hit. Could that be "Into the Badlands?"

The martial arts story centers on a young boy and a warrior who join forces to fight their way through a feudal and dangerous region in order to find true happiness. Action, adventure and drama; "Into the Badlands" will premiere tonight on AMC.

"The Man in the High Castle" - Nov. 20 - Amazon Prime

What if the Axis powers had won World War II? What would have happened to America and to the world? "The Man in the High Castle" asks that question and then dives deep into answering it.

Taking place in a United States that is divided between Nazi Germany and the Japanese Empire, "The Man in the High Castle" will treat fans to an alternate history suspense thriller in which the main characters must risk their lives to uncover the truth and right a horrible wrong.

"Jessica Jones" - Nov. 20 - Netflix

Following the runaway success of Marvel's "Daredevil," Netflix is doubling up on MCU property with "Jessica Jones" starring Krysten Ritter.

Jones is a former superhero suffering from PTSD and struggling through her new job as a private investigator. But when a dark figure from her past returns to wreak havoc, she'll be forced to push herself back into action in order to stop him.

If all goes well, "Jessica Jones" will continue to set up Marvel's eventual "Defenders" series (kind of like a street level Avengers) on Netflix.

Leaving TV...

"The Bastard Executioner" - Tuesday, Nov. 17 - FX

From the mind that brought you "Sons of Anarchy," "The Bastard Executioner" hasn't always been a hit with critics throughout its freshman season. However, it has been an exciting ride with impressive period piece storytelling and action sequences. Will the show's finale put it on a better path for season two? Tune in this Tuesday to find out.

"The Blacklist" - Thursday, Nov. 19 - NBC

Is there anyone out there who doesn't enjoy James Spader's charismatic, charming, smarmy Red Reddington even just a little bit? Say what you want about "The Blacklist's" sometimes-nonsensical twists and turns, but Spader's scene chewing holds the entire operation together.

With plenty of cliffhangers that have left viewers dangling, the season two finale promises to be saturated with OMG moments.

"Grey's Anatomy" - Thursday, Nov. 19 - ABC

Still going strong in its 12th season, "Grey's Anatomy" has always found the entertaining, if slightly absurd, balance between personal and professional lives. When you throw in the excitement and heightened stakes of a hospital, you get good old-fashioned soap opera drama. Cudos to star Ellen Pompeo for carrying the series this far.

"How to Get Away With Murder" - Thursday, Nov. 19 - ABC

The sophomore season has proven to be yet another hit for ABC godmother Shonda Rhimes. But, perhaps more importantly, it has also given the well-deserving and truly talented Viola Davis a turn to finally headline her own project. Davis' commanding performance is like a tough army drill sergeant, she raises the game of everyone who is on camera with her. We can't wait to see how they leave things this week.

"Scandal" - Thursday, Nov. 19 - ABC

The last of the Shonda-verse shows to head into the offseason. We'll now allow for a moment of silence.

Kerry Washington has emerged from "Scandal's" massive success as a true breakout star. We just hope everything works out for her during the finale. But, knowing how "Scandal" works, we're confident there will be a few curveballs thrown in there.
