Firefox is expanding its reach with a new app that is now available for iOS, allowing iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch users to access the service on their devices, according to Digital Trends.

The app is available for download for free from the iTunes App Store, PC Magazine reportedFirefox Vice President of Product Nick Nguyen gave a statement about the release in a blog post.

"Firefox for iOS lets you take your favorite browser with you wherever you go with the Firefox features you already love," he said.

The app was released earlier this year in New Zealand as a test, and it passed with flying colors, according to Tech Times.

The new app comes with many features that users will be happy to utilize, including Intelligent Search, Visual Tabs and Private Browsing.

Users running iOS 8.2 or later will be able to download the app and use it at its fullest capacity, according to PC Mag.

Firefox for Android was released four years ago and has seen massive success, reaching more than 100 million downloads this year, Digital Trends noted.

The fate of Firefox for iOS, however, is still up in the air.
