For those of you with similarly inactive social lives, you've probably seen the outlandish fan theory about Christian Bale, Ben Affleck and "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" that has been making the rounds lately. If not, here's the low down.

A very imaginative comic book movie fan out there theorized that Zack Snyder's "Dawn of Justice" and Warner Bros.' ever growing DC Extended Universe is actually directly connected to Christopher Nolan's "Dark Knight" trilogy. Furthermore, he suggested that Affleck is actually playing DC Comics character Deathstroke, who is just filling in for Bale's Bruce Wayne until he returns at the end of the movie.

If you're laughing right now, I understand. This theory is about as ridiculous as it gets. But fans everywhere took up the cause and treated it like gospel.

Well, sorry to disappoint.

"I haven't heard that. This is the first I've heard of it," Bale told Entertainment Tonight on Thursday. "I think it's pretty clear that Ben [Affleck] is playing Batman now."

Yes, Christian, it is very clear. Yet people somehow still believe you're trying to pull the cowl over their eyes.

"No, it's not happening," he reaffirmed.

There you go, fans, a pretty straight forward denial. And this isn't some type of a ruse in the vein of "Benedict Cumberbatch is not Kahn" or "Christoph Waltz is not Blofeld." It just doesn't make any sense for Warner Bros. to go to such great lengths to pull off this trick, nor would it serve their bottom line.

Bale can next be seen in "The Big Short" which centers around the banking and real estate struggles of the United States in the mid-2000s. Does that sound Batman-esque to you?

"The Big Short" will hit theaters on Dec. 23 while "Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice" will debut on March 25.
