John Oliver and his wife Kate Norley have been blessed with a baby boy. "John and his wife Kate are parents of a baby boy," and HBO rep confirmed the news, according to E!. "Everybody is happy and healthy."

The "Last Week Tonight" host met Norley, an Iraq War veteran who served as a U.S. Army medic, in 2008 when he was covering the Republican National Convention for "The Daily Show." Norley was at the convention representing Vets for Freedom. The two tied the know three years later, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

On Tuesday, Oliver performed at the 9th Annual Stand Up for Heroes comedy benefit at Madison Square Garden, showing his commitment to the troops. He and Norley,  also have visited Afghanistan as part of a USO tour. Oliver previously said about Norley, "It's the most emasculating thing I could possibly do to go out with someone who has actually done something valuable with their life," according to People.

Oliver, 38, has previously hosted a segment on the HBO show about maternity leave, criticizing America's policy which only allows women who have been employed full-time for more than one year at a company with no less than 50 people to claim 12 weeks of unpaid leave.

"What that means is that 40 percent of workers are not covered under the federal law," Oliver said. "So if a worker with no paid leave goes into labor at work, she better hope it's on her lunch hour and that her co-workers don't mind if the break room gets a bit messy."

Oliver also pointed out the double standard of lawmakers, specifically in Minnesota, who shared heartfelt tributes on Mother's Day and then voted in opposition to the Women's Security Act, which is aimed at protecting the rights mothers in the work environment.

"You can't go on and on about how much you love mothers and then fail to support legislation that makes life easier for them," he said. "In fact, until we, as a country, do something to address this, this should be the only message that we're allowed to send on Mother's Day."
