With her own new album set to be released next week (Oct. 22), Katy Perry recently spoke to Sirius XM radio about who she believes is the best female pop vocalist at the moment.

MTV News reports that Perry gushed over none other than Ariana Grande, a 20-year-old Nickelodeon star who rose to fame on the now-cancelled show "Victorious" and her spin-off "Sam & Cat." She's released several hit sings and her debut album, "Yours Truly," a blend of '90s-infused R&B and pop with vocals that many have compared to Mariah Carey's.

Not only that, but she's got a big fan in pop princess Katy Perry.

"I love her. I think she has the best female vocal in pop music today," Perry told Sirius XM during a preview today of songs from her new album. "She has literally the best voice, the best voice live. She kills it. She's so good."

"I got to hang out with her and listen to her record before it came out because I wanted to reach out to her and be like, 'Hey girl, you're just about to go through a whirlwind. Let me give you some tips if you ever need anything - a hairstylist, makeup artist, whatever.' And she's the sweetest girl and I just wish her the best."

Following the interview, Grande tweeted Perry and thanked her for being "a true friend & inspiration." She's long been a fan of the pop star, having told "Live From MTV" that "Roar" is her "everything," and the only person she was excited to see perform at the VMAs was none other Katy Perry.

When a fan on Twitter asked her how was she feeling that Katy Perry had deemed her the "best female vocal in pop music," Grande responded that she's "still recovering."

As for "Prism," you can now hear 1:30 snippets and pre-order the album on iTunes.
