It may seem like Lady Gaga was practically born to be a part of "American Horror Story: Hotel," but shockingly the role doesn't come easy to her. She has even admitted that she was so nervous before the first day of filming that she threw up in her Rolls Royce on the way to the set.

"I threw up in the plastic bag and I saved it and brought it to Ryan Murphy," Gaga told Variety. "He was like, 'Oh, you think you can disgust me? You can't.' The thing is, you think you can't get anything past him, but then he met me. And I'll bring him a bag of my own vomit to set."

As the Countess, Gaga has to play a very serious yet mysterious ruthless hotel owner who lives off sex and blood and is obsessed with high fashion. While many believe she would be perfect for this role based on her love for art and over-the-top outfits and music videos, it turns out they don't have much in common at all.

"I find it funny that people wonder if that's just the way I really am, so this was very easy for me to just kind of walk in here with my blonde hair on and just be a bitch and be rude to everyone, and that's just what I do, because you've seen me do something like that before," she explained. "The truth is that it's actually very challenging to be sincere when you have all that on. It's not comfortable. It's never been comfortable for me."

Murphy even told her to "be more of a bitch, be meaner, and be more restrained" to really fulfill her role and make it seem "effortless and honest," so Gaga did what any good actor would do and immersed herself in the role, which she admitted can sometimes be dangerous, especially when she's around her fiance Taylor Kinney.

"It's quite a challenge for Taylor as well at times because I just don't give a f--k about s--t anymore," she revealed. "Because [the Countess] just can't be, she's been alive for 100 years. So no matter what goes on in her hotel, if she loses her cool, she can't handle her s--t...I desperately so want for you all to love the real me and not the idea of me that you write about or see. [The Countess] wants everyone in this hotel to love her for who she really is, cunning or not. Cunning, evil - she feels that they're all here in this triumph of the hotel because of her. And she keeps them together and she wants to be rewarded for that, for who she really is, and not for anything else."

When Gaga found out she'd be appearing on the show, she couldn't contain her excitement. "I've just been weeping while I'm here because I have returned to something I've believed in so much, which is the art of darkness," she said before the show started, as HNGN previously reported. "It's not something that everyone understands, but for the people that do, - 'Horror Story' fans, my fans - there is a true connection between us, and it's a language within itself."

Murphy had been excited to bring her on, too, and he just knew he'd made the right choice. "Everybody who does the show has to start with something disturbing and awful right away," he said at the time. "I can't say enough great things about her." He's even asked her to return for the next season already. "Lady Gaga is so brilliant in AHS Season 5 that yesterday I officially asked her to join season 6. Say yes @ladygaga," he tweeted before season 5 even aired.
