Jason Aldean decided to dress as Lil Wayne for Halloween this year, and his choice of blackface is causing quite the controversy.

A photo of the 38-year-old country singer dressed as the rapper- sunglasses, bandana and dreadlocks included- appeared on Nashville Gab, and speculation about the costume immediately started. The photo shows Aldean standing next to some friends and his wife Brittany Kerr, who also appeared to be dressed as a rapper with dreadlocks, but she did not wear blackface.

Tyne Parrish, his publicist, has confirmed that he did in fact "dress as rapper Lil Wayne for Halloween" but refused to say anything else about the costume, according to the Associated Press. Aldean, who was named the top-selling digital male country artist last year, has not yet issued any sort of apology for wearing blackface.

His fans are not pleased with his actions, as several people have taken to social media to criticize the costume that they felt was very offensive, according to Us Weekly.

"I have lost all respect for @Jason_Aldean. It's amazing how a man with so much talent can make poor choices," one user wrote, while another added, "Nobody needs to be in blackface to successfully pull off a lil Wayne costume."
