NBC showed very early confidence in its freshmen drama "Blindspot," giving it a season two renewal on Monday. The network also renewed "Chicago Fire" and "Chicago P.D." for the 2016-2017 season.

"Blindspot," starring Jaimie Alexander and Sullivan Stapleton, was the first new fall series to receive a full season order. It has averaged 12.7 million viewers and a 3.7 rating among 18-49 year-old adults over its first seven episodes.

"We are over the moon with the success of 'Blindspot,' and want to thank our producers and amazing cast for creating one of the most riveting shows on television. Jaimie and Sullivan have done an amazing job of ratcheting up the tension each week in trying to unravel the mystery of Jane's tattoos," NBC Entertainment President Jennifer Salke said in a statement. "We literally can't wait to see what the second season will bring."

In fall 2016, "Chicago Fire" will enter its fifth season while its sequel, "Chicago P.D.," heads into its fourth. A second sequel in the Dick Wolf franchise, "Chicago Med," will premiere next week on Tuesday, Nov. 17.

NBC also ordered three more episodes of its sophomore drama "The Mysteries of Laura," which brings the season total to 16 episodes.

"Blindspot" airs on Mondays at 10 p.m. "Chicago Fire" airs on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. "The Mysteries of Laura" and "Chicago P.D." air on Wednesdays at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m., respectively.
