A baby pygmy goat was stolen Wednesday from the Arizona State Fair has been returned safely, 20 hours later, according to KTVU. Baby GusGus, just 3 weeks old and weighing a mere five pounds, was found by a Good Samaritan off a canal while walking his dog. The Samaritan scooped up little GusGus and took him to the local PetSmart, which immediately notified the state fair livestock director, Karen Searle.

"They called the fair and sent pictures to our phone," Searle said, the Los Angeles Daily News reported. "We said 'It's got to be him' and it was him."

When the news stations showed GusGus' sad mother Custard crying out, it sparked a social media storm with #FindGusGus hashtags trending on Twitter and Facebook accounts across the nation, according to The Christian Science Monitor.

Custard and GusGus are part of the Oregon-based Great American Animal Entertainment Company, which brings petting zoos to events across the country. The petting zoos are a fun interactive event for families to meet animals they wouldn't normally get to.

When Searle and company brought GusGus back home to Custard, the reunion is a heartbreaker. He was hungry and happy to see his ecstatic mother.

"From the bottom of our hearts, we'd like to thank him," petting zoo manager Emilie Owen said. "He literally saved GusGus' life by finding him."
