The Buffalo Bills have announced that Percy Harvin will be placed on injured reserve for the rest of the 2015 season, according to Chris Brown of the Buffalo Bills. While the Bills won't have Harvin for the rest of this season, wide receiver Sammy Watkins will "definitely" play Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, according to ESPN's Mike Rodak.

Harvin was reportedly contemplating retirement after suffering another hip injury, and many are left wondering about his future given his recurring history of injuries. The Bills receiver only played five games this season, but still managed 218 receiving yards and a touchdown.

Harvin was named the rookie of the year in 2009 with the Minnesota Vikings but has struggled to stay healthy throughout his career. The explosive receiver has only completed a full 16-game season once in his NFL career, and it's unclear what his future holds. Harvin had been battling a persistent hip injury, but a new knee injury is why the team decided to shut him down for the season. Harvin's final two years of his contract with the Bills is voidable, and he could become a free agent this upcoming spring.

The Bills used Harvin's roster spot to add cornerback Leodis McKelvin back to the 53-man roster. McKelvin is returning for a broken fibula he suffered a year ago and is expected to be active for Sunday's game against the Dolphins, according to Brown.

While the Bills lost an explosive player in Harvin, they get a different explosive player back in Watkins. "I'll definitely be out there," said Watkins, via ESPN. Watkins injured his ankle against the Cincinnati Bengals on Oct. 18 and looks to make his return this weekend. Head coach Rex Ryan said that Watkins will be a game-time decision, but it looks like Buffalo will have their first round draft pick back in the lineup.
