Apple has built the official 3D design of its new "spaceship" headquarters that will replace its current Cupertino HQ. The project is expected to be completed by 2015.

We learnt about spaceship though Star Trek. No matter how fictional, we decided to believe that the round, large spaceships that were supposedly faster than light existed. We are not only ones to be fascinated by the idea of spaceships. The world leader in finest mobile technology, Apple Inc., can be added to that long list. The tech giant will soon be changing its Cupertino HQ to a large spaceship designed campus. This spaceship will only sit on the ground while 14,000 employees, err humans, continue to woo us with their new techs.

Apple  announced plans to build a new "spaceship" campus in Cupertino, California, more than two years ago. The project was introduced by the company's co-founder, chairman & CEO Steve Jobs, just months before his death in 2011.

With the courtesy of Mercury News, images of the 3D model of the amazing new Apple HQ were leaked online. The campus goes before the Cupertino City Council for a final vote on Tuesday, according to the report.

The new project will not take the place of the current HQ location but will be built on a 2.8 million square feet area previously occupied by HP. The headquarter building will have four storys and will host 14,000 workers, which is five times more than the current HQ's capacity. The project will be led by the UK-based architecture firm, Foster + Partners and the estimated cost involved would be around $5 billion, CNET reported earlier this month.

The images of the first public model show  the new facility with a dark-colored roof top with solar panels, an auditorium, spacious parking, jogging tracks and a 45,000 square foot fitness center.
