NC State has been on the come up in the ACC the past few years under head coach Mark Gottfried as he has been able to get a lot of talent to the school despite competing with Duke and North Carolina for top recruits. Gottfried is currently in the process of trying to stack up recruits for his 2016 class and so far he has already gotten a commitment from Dennis Smith Jr. who is one of the best recruits in the nation. The next target for NC State is Edrice "Bam" Adebayo who took his official visit this weekend and called it "sensational," according to Adam Zagoria of SNY.tv.

The visit to NC State was Adebayo's second official visit along with Kentucky and he had nothing but great things to say about his time on campus in Raleigh. Adebayo went to the football game where NC State lost to Clemson by a score of 56-41 and he posted a picture of him with a fan from the school. Adebayo has also visited Auburn unofficially and plans to visit them officially along with Wake Forest and Kansas but has yet to set official dates.

Adebayo is a 6 foot-9 power forward from High Point, North Carolina and he is one of the top rated prospects in the country. As of right now the prevailing thought is that he will likely stay home to play his basketball and NC State looks like the heavy favorite, according to 247 Sports. The fact that the Wolfpack have already gotten a commitment from Smith Jr. helps their cause a lot as he and Adebayo are very good friends and took their official visits to the school this past weekend.

As of right now Smith is the only commit NC State has for the 2016 season and the top 100 players are flying off the board faster than ever before which makes Adebayo even more important for them. Adebayo is ranked as the number six overall player in the class and the second best power forward, according to ESPN. NC State's 2016 class is currently ranked 57th in the nation but if they were to add another top ten recruit that would jump way up and put them in a really good position moving forward.

Adebayo doesn't have an announcement date yet as he still hasn't taken all of the visits he plans to but all signs right now point to NC State. John Calipari is doing everything in his power to try to get the bouncy power forward to leave his home state though and this should be an interesting decision to look out for.
