Let's dismiss one rumor surrounding the fate of Kate Beckett on "Castle" this season - she will not kick the bucket in the fall finale.

A recent report about a co-lead's untimely death on a well-established show had some fans speculating that person would be Stana Katic, who has played Beckett since the show's inception, but "Castle" showrunners Alexi Hawley and Terence Paul Winter quickly quashed those fears.

"[If it were true], I can't imagine we'd be sitting here saying you're going to be excited to see what happens in January. 'Beckett's dead, but don't worry about it, it's still going to be fun!' No, we're not. It's absolutely not true," Hawley told Entertainment Weekly.

Winter added, "We killed off Montgomery in season 3. We're not killing anymore people off."

Now that that's cleared up, here are a few other spoilers to look forward to on "Castle."

Detective Slaughter Is Back

Nathan Fillion welcomes back his "Firefly" co-star Adam Baldwin as Det. Slaughter, who was last seen in the season four episode, "Headhunters." He'll give Castle a man's perspective on the P.I.'s recent split from Beckett.

In the Nov. 9 episode, "Cool Boys," a work function takes Beckett out of the office so Castle hooks up with Slaughter on another case. "What we tried to do was have a bit of the 'guy' conversation about what's happening, but put that perspective on its head," Hawley told TVLine. "It ends up being a positive conversation."

Castle's Disappearance Revisited

As the showrunners teased before the season started, the case of Castle's disappearance last season will come back into play around episode 14.

"We're still nailing down the specifics, but we want to get into that. We want to, as we promised at the beginning of the season, tie that in to some of the stuff that we set up at the beginning of the season," Hawley told Entertainment Weekly.

Will Castle and Beckett Celebrate Their One-Year Anniversary?

The Nov. 16 episode titled "The Last Seduction" will mark the one-year wedding anniversary for the couple currently on the outs. Despite their separation, Rick and Kate will "find a way" to celebrate, Winter told TVLine.

Kristopher Polaha Guest Stars as Public Defender No. 1

Polaha will drop by the 12th precinct in the fall finale, "Mr. & Mrs. Castle," as a public defender who "comes in and presents with some unexpected complexity," Hawley told TVLine. "He's a little more than what he seems."

Winter added, "The design of his character is that he's immediately at odds with the folks of at the 12th, while representing a murderer. He's trying to do his job while the 12th is trying to do theirs."

"Castle" airs on Mondays at 10 p.m. on ABC.
