Casey Moss, an actor on "Days of Our Lives," was arrested Monday after allegedly trying to punch a bartender at a hotel bar in Scottsdale, Ariz., according to ABC 15 and the Associated Press.

Scottsdale police spokesman Kevin Watts told the Associated Press Wednesday that police responded to an assault call at the W Scottsdale Hotel around 12:30 a.m. The 21-year-old actor, who plays J.J. Deveraux on the NBC soap opera, was reportedly intoxicated and attempted to punch a bartender after he refused to serve him another alcoholic drink.

A friend of Moss unsuccessfully attempted to hold the actor back from causing a scene. Moss was tackled by the bar's security after he allegedly shoved another hotel employee. According to the police, the actor was taken into custody after he allegedly fought with an officer and refused arrest. While in handcuffs, Moss yelled, "I'm Casey Moss and I'm an actor on 'Days of Our Lives,'" and continued to curse and yell at hotel staff.

He is currently facing charges on assault, disorderly misconduct and resisting arrest. The actor was released from jail Tuesday and scheduled for a hearing Nov. 2.

Moss and the show have not released any comments about the incident.

Moss was in Scottsdale for a book signing for "Days of Our Lives 50 Years" by Greg Meng, which hit bookshelves Tuesday.
