"Gotham" showrunner Bruno Heller really wasn't kidding when he said season two would be the rise of the villains. Not only are the Galavans and the Maniax (well, some of the maniacs) still causing trouble throughout the city, but other iconic Batman villains such as Mr. Freeze will be making their "Gotham" debut later this year.

One such villain is Hugo Strange, who ComicBook.com is reporting will be played by BD Wong ("Jurassic World," "Mr. Robot").

"Gotham's" version of this character is described as "a brilliant professor and psychiatrist tapped to head up Gotham City's notorious Arkham Asylum. He's hired to help the city's criminally insane, but Strange has a nefarious streak as well.

Strange will be found conducting experiments on inmates in order to create super villains that service Indian Hill: the secret underground facility that Firefly (Michelle Veintimilla) was taken to after her conflict with the GCPD saw her swallowed by fire.

It is unknown which episode Wong will make his "Gotham" debut, but it will be as a recurring role which is good news for fans.

"Gotham" airs Monday nights on FOX.
