The "Baahubali" famed Telugu star Prabhas could make his Bollywood debut with superstar Hrithik Roshan in the fourth instalment of the Dhoom franchise, which will be directed by Vijay Krishna Acharya, a.k.a. Victor.

"A while ago, film-maker Aditya Chopra, director Vijay Krishna Acharya and other members of Aditya's production house had asked for a special screening of Baahubali. It was while watching the film that they thought of casting Prabhas," a source said, according to Hindustan Times.

"The Dhoom franchise is such where the villain, who is the hero, is supposed to be strong and brawny. Prabhas fits the requirements perfectly. Moreover, the dubbed version of Baahubali, too, got a tremendous box-office response, thus proving that he has a pan-India appeal," the source said.

Recently, there were rumors of superstar Amitabh Bachchan joining the cast of "Dhoom 4," as HNGN reported previously. Director Acharya, however, denied the rumors that he had approached Big B for the movie.

"We'll be announcing the film in a few weeks. Will keep you posted and will be able to give you a clear picture then. Wait for YRF to make the official announcements on forthcoming films and in the meantime please refrain from casting speculations," Acharya said last week, according to Times of India.

Hrithik Roshan, who played the role of a thief in "Dhoom 2," returned to Yash Raj Films' tremendously successful franchise and will be playing the lead character. However, suspense remains over his role in Yash Raj Films (YRF) film. There are speculations that he will be playing the main antagonist in the movie, according to Bollywood Life.

The "Dhoom" series started in 2004 and became Bollywood's most popular franchise after the massive success of its third instalment, which was released in 2014. "Dhoom 3" is the second highest gross film in Indian cinema history at $89 million worldwide.
