Yesterday, Patti Stevens was found dead in Dallas due to an apparent suicide. She was married to Dave Stevens, who was brutally hacked to death just two weeks ago, according to the New York Post.

A neighbor, concerned about Patti since she hadn't seen her leave her house recently, called the police. The officers arrived around 2 p.m. and found Patti's body lying on the ground next to her car that was still on. Police suspected she died from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Patti, 54, explained to local newspapers after her husband was found murdered that she felt "lost" without her husband of 25 years, who was the "love of her life," according to Detroit Newstime.

It had taken more than 24 hours before Dave was identified by his fingers printers, but Patti already knew something was wrong because her husband never returned home after his morning run, according to the Daily Mail. "People need to know that this was a wonderful person going out and doing what he loved to do," said Patti.

The man responsible for the death of Dave is Thomas Johnson, 21, a former Texas A&M student. He was diagnosed as a schizophrenic and confessed the murder to police shortly after it took place.

"It has created a huge hole in our hearts. We would appreciate being given our privacy during this most difficult time," explained the family members of Patti and Dave.
