When George Lucas sold all of Lucasfilm to Disney in 2012 for an astronomical amount of money, $4 billion to be exact, Lucas also appeared to be selling all control over the future of the "Star Wars" saga that he created.

That appears to not quite be the case. As Disney and J.J. Abrams ramp up production on "Star Wars: Episode VII," a new film which is supposed to take place after the "Return of the Jedi," they have been turning to Lucas for advice and counsel, according to Flicks and the City.

Jett Lucas, George's son, sat down with Flicks and the City to discuss the new trilogy and revealed that his famous father has been in contact with Abrams as he prepares the film.

"He's constantly talking to J.J.," Lucas said about his father. "Obviously J.J. was handpicked. He is there to guide, whenever, he'll help where he can. At the same time, he wants to let it go and become its new generation."

Lucas said in the interview that he already knows what is going to happen in the next three films, unfortunately he shared very little of that information. Lucas did discuss the rumor that members of the original cast will be returning for the next film, according to ComicBook.com.

"I think it would be awesome," Lucas said. "Who doesn't want to see Han Solo cruise through on the Falcon again? But at the same time, maybe he's teaching his son how to drive it."

Lucas also sounded like many other "Star Wars" fans when he was questioned about the possibility of an actor from "Star Trek," which was also directed by Abrams, jumping to the galaxy far, far away. One of the most persistent casting rumors surrounds Benedict Cumberbatch, who played Khan in the last "Star Trek" film, playing a villain.

"I don't know if I would be so thrilled," Lucas said. "I think that would be beginning of the apocalypse if you were to cross 'Star Trek' with 'Star Wars.' I think that's a dangerous combination. Again, it would be interesting. It's an idea to explore if anything."
