Google will be capturing more destinations in its Street View service by mapping over 100 Indian monuments providing a 360-degree view of historical places including Taj Mahal, Ajanta and Ellora caves and the Qutub Minar.

The fast growing Google Street View project is about to bring a treat for all historic monument enthusiasts. The troubles it had got into with local authorities in 2011 are far behind and Google has come a long way to bring pleasurable 360-degree viewing images of famous worldwide destinations. In a recent move with its wheeled trekker, Google will capture over 100 Indian monuments and pin them on Google Maps.

A trip to India should be planned well in advance, but anyone can take a few minutes to quickly observe the beautiful historical monuments built in the early centuries. Fine artifacts from the rulers of India, and monuments built in the memory of their beloved ones are breathtaking. The latest venture will capture panoramic images of one of the Seven Wonders of the World, the Taj Mahal and others including the Ajanta and Ellora caves, and Qutub Mina, an ancient Islamic monument. These popular Indian monuments will be pinned on the Google Maps for viewers around the world to take a virtual trip.

"Google's mission is to make information more accessible, and around the world Google is constantly looking for new ways to tell the stories of the world's diverse cultures and make them available worldwide," the web giant told Mashable. "Google hopes to help make more of India's heritage accessible to people around the world, and to help preserve India's unique history for generations to come."

A prior experience in 2011 with Street View in Bangalore, India, turned troublesome for the web giant. To carry out the mapping process in a smooth way, Google has teamed with the Indian Ministry of Culture and the Archeological Survey of India and started the project last Thursday in New Delhi.

Google has already captured the Charminar in Hyderabad with its Street View Cameras and has several other modern destinations such as the Burj-Khalifa and the world-famous Eiffel Tower.
