Reality TV star and singer Larry Hernandez was jailed on Friday in Newberry, S.C., to face trail on charges that include kidnapping and assault in connection with a dispute over payment for his performance in the town two months ago.

On Sept. 25, Hernandez was arrested at a California airport after he and his associates allegedly wrapped a man in plastic, forced him into their hotel room and assaulted him when the singer didn't receive the full payment he was owed after an August concert in Newberry, CNN reported.

The disagreement was a result of poor attendance at the concert, due to which Hernandez was paid $14,000 instead of the previously agreed amount of $30,000.

The alleged victim was Jose Andrade, a friend of the concert's promoter, who drove him to a hotel to make the payment to Hernandez and his group, according to Fox News.

"They kidnapped him, they beat him. ... He wants justice done because we do not want there to be another report that, instead of kidnapping, says murder," said Jose's brother Alejandro Andrade.

The "Larrymania" star was later released on a $200,000 bail after being extradited to South Carolina. The judge ordered him to surrender his passport and allowed him to travel back to California on the condition that he reports his return to local authorities and co-operated with the ongoing investigations, according to Billboard.
