Former UCLA signee Cordell Broadus played football for his dad, Snoop Dogg, as he posted a message for him on his birthday, according to Nick Bromberg of Yahoo! Sports.

"I played football for my father because I thought that was the only way he would love me and be a part of my life. It took me 12 years to realize he loves Cordell Broadus the person not Cordell Broadus the football player. The best day of my life was when I heard those exact words; I love you dad hope you have a great birthday," Broadus wrote on his Instagram account.

Broadus was a four-star Under Armour All-American wide receiver who ranked 130th on ESPN's 300. It was big news back in February when Broadus chose UCLA, and not his dad's favor team USC. Broadus reportedly had offers from Arizona State, Baylor, LSU, and USC. Snoop Dogg and his son did a five-part documentary about his journey and playing football called "Snoop & Son: A Dad's Dream."

Broadus announced that he was leaving the team in August before the football season started. "Cordell informed me yesterday that he has decided to pursue other passions in his life - in particular his love of film through his company Film School Production," said UCLA head coach Jim Mora, via Yahoo! Sports.

Broadus has decided to step away from football to pursue other passions in his life, and it seems like film is the direction he is headed.
