Recent incidents involving mysterious men in clown masks have prompted police in Kent, England, to warn students to go straight home after school. The warning was issued after several incidents were reported involving students being stalked by masked men as they were walking to and from school, according to the Independent.

A number of the incidents happened in the Tonbridge and Tunbridge Wells areas in Kent, with some of the men travelling in vans and deliberately scaring children as they walk by. The men were reported to be wearing Halloween and clown masks.

Schools in the area have also issued warnings following a stalking incident Oct. 14 in which a boy reported he was approached by two men in a van that stopped in Sandown Park, Tunbridge Wells, reported the Standard.

Upon spotting the men, the boy ran away, reporting the incident to his school immediately.

Tunbridge Wells Chief Inspector Dave Pate stated that the police have been mobilized due to the incidents, and that the authorities are working with the schools in the area to provide more protection to the students.

"We are still working to establish whether any offenses have been committed. However, I want to assure parents that we take the safety of all children very seriously and have extra officers on patrol around schools," he said.
