Halle Berry and Oliver Martinez welcomed a baby boy on Saturday, Oct. 5, People magazine reports. This is the second child for Berry and a first for the French actor.

The baby boy, who has not been given a name yet, was born at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. A source from the hospital told People that 5-year-old Nahla was thrilled to have a little brother and was seen happily skipping and prancing around in the hallway of the maternity ward.

"Oliver hasn't left Halle's side. Nahla visited her baby brother earlier today," the source said.

The pregnancy was a surprise for Berry and her husband. The couple announced they were expecting a baby in April.

"This has been the biggest surprise of my life, to tell you truth," she told CNN. "Thought I was kind of past the point where this could be a reality for me. So it's been a big surprise and the most wonderful."

The 46-year-old actress met her husband in 2010 on the set of "Dark Tide." The movie bombed in theaters but their off-screen chemistry thrived. After two years of dating, Martinez popped the question to Berry with a gorgeous emerald engagement ring by Paris designer Robert Mazlo.

"She has called him 'The One,'" said Sophie Dulac, president of the Champs-Elysees Film Festival. "She's said she never expected to meet this Frenchman, to fall in love like she has."

"They seem truly in love," she continued. "I've known Oliver very well and have never seen him like this."

Berry has been married two times before. She was previously married to baseball player David Justice in the early 1990s and to singer Eric Benet in the early 2000s.

This is the first marriage for Martinez who previously dated singer Kylie Minogue.
