Tracy Morgan is back in Studio 8H preparing for his return to "Saturday Night Live" this weekend and he's off to a great start in his first set of promos with cast member Bobby Moynihan.

Morgan will host the NBC sketch show for the second time and his first since his tragic car accident in June 2014 that claimed the life of his friend and mentor, James "Jimmy" McNair. The comedian starred on "SNL" as a regular cast member from 1996 to 2003.

Morgan and Moynihan don't shy away from talking about the accident and the host jokes he can't remember anything that happened before the accident. It almost gets Moynihan off the hook for his $72 (or was it $78) debt to Morgan. He also plans on getting everyone in the building pregnant, of course.

"SNL" executive producer Lorne Michaels left the door open for Morgan to come host whenever he felt ready.

"A month, month and a half ago, I was speaking to Lorne Michaels. I love Lorne Michaels, like I love my dad. I'm very close to him. The conversation got kind of emotional, and I said, 'Lorne, I want to come home.' And he said, 'The door's open.' So I'm hosting," Morgan told CNN in September after his surprise appearance at the Emmy Awards.

Morgan will host "Saturday Night Live" on Oct. 17 at 11:30 p.m. on NBC.
