I’m sure there are “The Originals” fans who are team “Klamille”. However, according to executive producer Michael Narducci, the Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Camille (Leah Pipes) relationship may not be a romantic one from the get go.

In fact, Klaus’ interest in Cami may have something to do with Marcel (Charles Michael Davis).

“Very early on, we’ll see that she catches the eye of Marcel,” Narducci said in an interview with TVLine. “So if you’re Klaus, and you want to get to the bottom of Marcel and his power dynamic, it’s very interesting to notice that this girl Cami has caught Marcel’s eye.”

As for the romance aspect of the relationship, Narducci told the website Klaus and Camille may take a slightly different turn.

“I think it’s far more interesting to play just a human connection, ’cause he doesn’t really have a lot of friends,” the EP explained. “Klaus is someone who either kills you or manipulates you. Cami is someone who is educated enough that he might take a pause and just be curious to get to know her. Her history with New Orleans and her education are going to make her someone very interesting for Klaus to interact with.”

Camille is going to become a ploy in the Klaus vs. Marcel battle pretty soon. According to EOnline, Rebekah (Claire Holt) and Klaus are going to attend a party thrown by Marcel. In a strategic move, Rebekah invites Cami (an unsuspecting human and the girl Marcel likes) to a party that’s full of vampires. Hopefully Cami can survive in this game that these supernatural characters are playing.

“The Originals” airs Tuesdays, 8/7c on The CW.
